The idea behind forming "The Punters' Club" is to create an alliance of extraordinary friends who share the same common understanding of what mateship is all about. The thought behind the club was to maintain and to build upon amazing foundation of mateship.
StrategyThe plan is to start a savings account that has no fees of charges nor is it interest earning. The reason for this is if we start earning interest some one has to include the earnings in their tax each year, eventually this will be changed. Each member of the club will contribute $10 per week, this equals $43.45 per month. The funds will be electronically transferred from your account to the managed savings account on the 16th of every month. That would work out to be.
| $43.45 per month x 12 months | = $521.43 per year |
| $520 per member x 18 members | = $9385.74 per year |
With that money one of two things is will be done. The first is organising a big dinner every December, possibly a couple of weeks out from Christmas. Where we would allocate $2,280 ($120 per person) to the night, this would cover dinner and drinks at an agreed venue. If a member is unable to attend then the money will be credited to his membership.
SavingsThen eventually invest the remaining amount of $7105.74 each year for an agreed amount of time to a point where the funds had matured substantially. Then we as a group would invest the money in a race horse. We would have to obtain the right advice when the time comes. Owning a racehorse will be a fantastic opportunity to get into something we could all enjoy as a group of mates at no significant cost.
CharityWhen the time comes and it is agreed upon the plan is to make a yearly donation to a designated charity of the Club's choice. I thought as a group of very fortunate guys it would be great opportunity to put a little something back into community.
